  3. Digital Citizenship:
  4.

    1. Megan Hales gave an overview of technology being used in the school and plans for next year. The district has provided students with a tablet with a touch screen. Megan explained their versatility and how much the students like them. In grades 2nd, 3rd and 4th each student was issued their own tablet. In kindergarten and first grade the ratio is one tablet to two students. Megan explained that there is a filter in place that blocks by key words. Students are able to access educational games and links have been placed on the school website making it easier for the students. Digital citizenship classes were taught to all the grades. The school also had the NED assembly that taught about safety.

    1. DeAnna Lloyd gave an update on the School Land Trust and explained that they anticipate a carry over for next year. She explained that the council could either use the money this year or carry over. Rich suggested that with the 5th grade being moved back into the elementary we should leave the money for next year. Everyone agreed so the money will be left.

  7. School Land Trust Plan 2017-18:
  8.

Piper Riddle was introduced as the new principal for Heber Valley Elementary for the 2017-18 school year. Piper went over the plan for the upcoming school year for HVE. She had attended district data day to assess where Heber Valley was in comparison to the district. She felt that math and literacy were areas where she would like to aim high in setting goals. Rich asked if team teaching will be implemented next year. Piper said she will consider keeping that model but will not force teachers if they do not feel comfortable with that style of teaching. Reflex math and Dream Box are two programs that will be used at Heber Valley Elementary. Laura Blodgett motioned to approve the proposed School Land Trust Plan and Jackie Bluth seconded the motion. All voted in favor.
