Curriculum and Assessment
A balance between child-directed learning and explicit instruction is supported by providing environments and interactions that promote learning to meet the individual needs of students. The evidence-based curriculum, Connect 4 Learning, is implemented in all preschool classrooms providing students the opportunity to engage in project-based learning opportunities through meaningful learning experiences. All students are assessed using formative, curriculum-based assessments as well as formal assessment through the Developmental Observational Tool, given three times a year. Parents are informed of their students’ progress through progress reports and parent-teacher conferences. An online portal is also available for parents to monitor student learning.
