Air Force JROTC cadets compete in Northridge High School Monster Mash Raider Competition
The Air Force JROTC cadets competed in the Northridge High School Monster Mash Raider Competition on Saturday, Oct. 23rd. Raider Team is a physical and mental military-style fitness competition team. Cadets push themselves in several different events as a 9-person team. Cadets pulled themselves across a rope bridge, ran a 5K with a 20-pound pack, flipped a tractor tire 100 yards, threw an 18-pound medicine ball 200 yards, and did individual knot tying. Plus, they ran a relay race involving high crawls, sprinting, buddy drags and fireman carries. The event ended up a Tug-o-War, where Wasatch placed 2nd among 9 schools. And the entire competition was done in the rain and cooler temperatures.
This year's team was commanded by Tyson Averett and consisted of 8 other cadets including: Sammie Dahl, Tyler Baird, Ben Workman, Meri Enger, Natalie Jenkins, Aubrey Crumpton, Ethan Deeds, and Preston Barker. Congratulations on a job well done and good luck at your next competition in St George on November 6th!
