District Nurse and Wellness Supervisor, Aubreigh Parks, Honored with Mary Ito Award

We'd like to recognize our Wellness Supervisor and District Nurse, Aubreigh Parks, on receiving the Mary Ito Memorial Award from Utah School Nurses! Thank you, Aubreigh, for all you have done to support our students with care and professionalism. You are a rock star, and this is well deserved! To learn more about Aubreigh and the many ways in which she earned this honor, please see below ...

Aubreigh Parks works as a District Nurse and Wellness Supervisor for Wasatch County School District. She spent the first 10 years of her career working in Critical Care and Emergency medicine where she developed an appreciation for teamwork, critical thinking, and interacting closely with families to solve difficult problems.

Her passion for quality improvement led her to concurrently instruct for the American Heart Association and Intermountain Simulation where she has made an impact on both the rising generation of nurses as well as experienced multidisciplinary teams. Her expertise in quality improvement has afforded her the opportunity to work as a legal nurse consultant where she travels and lectures around the nation.

In 2017, she recognized a rising need in her community for better access to care and increased preventative health. In making the transition from “reactive” medicine to “preventative” medicine, she was asked to develop a new department for Wasatch County School District. Over the last three years, she has developed an incredible team and is determined to pave the way for other districts ready to practice school nursing in innovative ways!

She has found great joy in making a difference that impacts lives both close to home and at the state level. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time as the only female in her Heber home with her superhero husband, three rambunctious boys, cat and bearded dragon. If you don’t find her working in her yard, you’ll find her at a ball field or camping in the mountains.
