Sadie McCotter Selected as Business/Marketing Student of the Quarter

Wright Orthodontics and The Wasatch High School Business and Marketing Department are pleased to announce that Sadie McCotter has been selected as the Business/Marketing Student of the quarter for the second term of the 2019-20 school year. Sadie will receive $150 from Wright Orthodontics through the Wasatch Education Foundation. Sadie is a senior and is the daughter of Stacee and Tate McCotter.

Sadie has taken multiple Business and Marketing courses at Wasatch High School including Accounting 1, Accounting 2, Business Communications 1, and UVU Economics 1010. She is a top student in each of these classes. She has or will earn CTE Skills certificates for each of these courses.

Sadie plans to earn a master’s degree in Accounting after high school with the goal of being an International Accountant or CFO. During high school Sadie also earned CTE Pathway recognition for the Accounting/Finance pathway. She will be acknowledge for this achievement along with others who have complete the requirements for a CTE pathway at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

Sadie is an active member of the nationally recognized FBLA chapter at Wasatch High School. She recently participated in the Utah Eastern Region FBLA competition where she helped Wasatch High School FBLA win another region championship. Sadie earned second place honors in both Accounting 1 and Accounting 2. She is looking forward to participating in the 2020 Utah FBLA Leadership Conference and helping Wasatch High School FBLA win another state championship.

In addition to her accomplishment in the Business and Marketing area, Sadie has taken seven AP courses at Wasatch High School. She earned passing scores of fours and fives on the AP tests she has taken so far. Sadie has also taken five concurrent enrollment classes at Wasatch High School, where she earns college credit at the same time she earns high school credit for each class. Sadie has a huge head start on college by taking advantage of the college credit available to Wasatch High School students.

Extracurricular activities that Sadie has excelled in are National Honor Society, SheTech Conference, piano, scuba diving, and piloting among others.
