Hello and Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. I hope you have had an amazing summer. I look forward to having your student in my class. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I want to help my students all that I can. There isn't any reason your student shouldn't be sucessful in my class.
I'm available for extra help on anything Monday-Wednesday and Fridays in the morning and after school most of the time. Sometimes I will have meetings before or after school, so it is a good idea to set up the time before-hand.
This year we aren't able to have any gluten in our classroom. My students are allowed to bring a healthy snack to school. Please remember to only bring fruit, vegetables, cheese, pudding, or other gluten free food for snack. Thank you for helping me out with this. Also don't forget if your student brings a snack with some kind of wrapper to remind them pick it up and put it in the trash when they are done.
Homework is 20 minutes of reading (5 of those minutes out loud) and 15 minutes of math facts. They will also need to bring any work that wasn't finished during the school day home to finish.
Report cards now include our new grading system. Remember it is a 1-4. Some of the items on the report card, your student will be lower because we just started that subject and it will be revisited again later in the school year.
Parent's if you would like to donate supplies for the classroom, here is a list of some needed items: Hand Sanitizer, stickers, sticky notes / post-its, dry erase Markers – black, Kleenex, and Lysol/Clorox Wipes...Kleenex and Wipes are even more important when cold and flu season are upon us.
Notice: The items on this list will be used during the regular school day. They may be brought from home on a voluntary basis; otherwise, they will be furnished by the school.
