Welcome to Dance and Drama!!!! I am so excited to have you in my class. Get ready to play!!!
I graduated from Southern Utah University with a degree in Theater Arts and Dance Education. I have taught for 23 years and absolutely love my job!! When I am not teaching, I enjoy directing, choreography, being in films and helping to cast films and stage productions. One of my passions is attending live performances. Musicals, plays, dance concerts, and music concerts. New York City is one of my favorite places to visit to be able to attend live performances, but I try and see productions in Utah as much as I can. I also love to go to the movies. Summer is my favorite part of the year. I spend it boating/surfing, hiking, paddle boarding, riding horses, and traveling. I also love spending time with my husband, three boys, daughter in law, and I'm going to be a grandma for the first time in December!!!
Our goal in this class is to provide students with the opportunity to learn and perform the different aspects of theater and stage presence.
This class is a performance class. We take everything we learned in Drama 1 and implement it into performances. The main performance will be the school play. Students must have taken Drama 1.
Students in this class will learn the aspects of technical theater. They will be engaged in lighting, sound, set, props, costumes, and stage managing. Students will be the technical support for the school play and other performance projects.
This class will cover technical and aesthetic understanding in ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, improvisation, and choreography. All levels of dancers are welcome and will work at their personal level.
This class is a continuation from Dance 1. Students will be engaged in all dance forms and explore choreographic outlets like props, music, culture, and themes.
