Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lane House

I was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.  I was a very active child and loved all kinds of sports but my favorite was Tae Kwon Do.  As a kid I earned my second degree black belt and four bronze medals from the National Junior Olympics in Tae Kwon Do.   In high school I played soccer, hockey and ran track. I graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 2001.
My undergraduate degree is from Minnesota State University Moorhead in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood.  While in college I worked part-time with Easter Seals supporting both adults and children with disabilities in their homes and the community.  The day after graduation I packed up my mom's car and she drove me out to Park City, Utah.  I worked as a ski instructor at Deer Valley for two winters.  My third year in Utah I met an amazing family with an adult son who has autism and lives at home.  I worked full-time with him as a recreational therapist helping him gain access to the community and stay active.  A few years later I decided to go back to school and in 2011 I graduated from the University of Utah with my Master's in Special Education.
My husband's name is Scott. We have two young sons, Callum and Brewer.  I have an older brother who lives in Provo, the rest of my family is back in Minnesota.
I love living in the state of Utah so close to many recreational adventures.  I enjoy riding bikes of all kinds, hiking, camping, paddle boarding, XC and downhill skiing, skating, boating and most all things that I can do outside.   I also enjoy reading, gardening, cooking dinner and working with people with different abilities!  I love being a teacher because the students have such wonderful enthusiasm and positive energy that they share with me each day :)
I was a special ed teacher at Heber Valley Elementary for 5 years, I am now working with the 18-22 year old students with special needs.
