• My roots, for many generations, are from Texas, so if you're child comes home saying "y'all", you'll know why.  I grew up in oil towns like Midland, Tulsa, Houston, and Fort Worth. I attended University of North Texas, majoring in Elementary and Special Education, graduating in 1978.  After serving an LDS mission to North Carolina, I moved to the Washington D.C. area with friends. It was such a great idea, I met my husband, Jerry, and had my first baby there. As a family, we have also lived in PA., Texas twice, Chicago and our favorite, Heber Valley. We have lived in the valley over twenty-two years and our four children have all graduated from Wasatch High School. I love my family and my three grandkids light up my life!
I have taught Special Education, ELL, and Reading, in Wasatch School District for over twenty years. Although, I have taught at many different schools, Midway has been my home most of those years. I completed my M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning, at BYU in 2001. My graduate  and continued professional research has focused on language and literacy development. I have a Utah Level 2 Professional Educator License with Endorsements for:  Reading, Advanced Reading, English as a Second Language, and Mild/Moderate Disabilities. For fifteen years,  I have, also, taught graduate level courses in Education for BYU and SUU.
I love teaching and don't plan on retiring until I'm 100!
