  • Principal's Message Brian Thorne

Welcome to Midway Elementary. As you enter our school, you may notice a sign in our entrance. It says, "What Begins Here, Changes the World." I believe that to be true. We borrowed this slogan from the University of Texas, but I believe it is much more applicable to an elementary school. What students learn in these early grades is going to lay a foundation for future success. We know the power that comes with literacy and numeracy. We also know that success in these early grades is a strong predictor of future success in upper grades and even college entrance. As such, we want to work hard to form a partnership with you, your child's first teachers, to help your child achieve high levels of learning. Working together, we can help our children do great things!

I believe that as a school and as a community we are on our way to helping our children achieve those great things. We have a dedicated and amazing faculty, an involved and helpful community, and best of all, outstanding students! Midway Elementary is a great place to be. As we emphasize ensuring that every student achieves high levels of learning, we will continue to work hard to ensure that this happens in a safe and a positive school climate. We are excited about the academic achievement that has happened this last year. We also recognize that we want all students to experience the pride of personal growth and achievement. We will continue to work to help every child realize that pride and to build on the good work that has already happened.

Please know that I am here to help your child. If I can ever be of assistance to you or your student, please don't hesitate to contact me. I want your child to have a successful experience in our school. Please feel free to email, call, or schedule an appointment through our office. I love working with kids and am lucky to have the greatest job in the world. Please don't hesitate to contact me!
