Welcome to Mr. Bardin's Class!
Hello and welcome to my class this year! My name is Scott Bardin and I am thrilled to be able to teach you this year. I graduated from Weber State University in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Sales and Customer Service and then graduate with a Master's degree in Secondary Education in 2012. It is an exciting time we are experiencing this year and I hope that I can make it as smooth as possible for all of you. This is my 8th year teaching and I have taught many different subjects over the year. Those subjects include Spanish, Dual Immersion, P.E., ELL, and Art. My main focus is Spanish and Dual Immersion. In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing 'old man' softball, and just hanging out with my family. My hobbies include reading, playing videogames, watching baseball, and fishing. Below is a short description of each class that I will be teaching this year.
The following classes are what I teach at TMS. Click on the class header to be linked to the Canvas page.
This is the 4th level of the dual immersion secondary program. This class follows the guidelines, standards, and objectives set forth by the state dual immersion standards and expectations. We will be studying a variety of different topics in Spanish while learning how to improve our Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking abilities in Spanish.
This is a basic Spanish class designed to help students learn beginning vocabulary and start using it in their daily lives. The students may not come out of this class speaking fluently at year's end, but they will have a strong foundation where they can begin to build their Spanish vocabulary through Reading, Writing, Listening to, and Speaking Spanish each day in class.
This is a continuation of the Spanish 1 class with a little more difficulty. In this class, students will begin to learn more complex verb and sentence structures to help them build upon what they learned in Spanish 1. They will be working toward fluency as speaking Spanish in class will be a bigger requirement for this year.
This course is designed to test and improve your strength, endurance, cardio, agility, and flexiblity levels through the use of different sports and physical activities.
This class is for English language learners to improve and hone their skills in the English language. Through the use of reading, writing, and speaking activities we will continue to move toward our goal of having all ELL students test proficient on the yearly WIDA exam.
That's all from me right now. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you this year and I hope that we can all have a great year. Pura Vida!
