Mrs. Cindy Brindley

My name is Cindy Brindley.  I love working with the students and parents to meet their educational goals. I am teaching 5th Grade this year.  I'm so excited to get teach 5th grade and I love my students.  I am not perfect and I will make mistakes, but I promise you that I will give 100% to my class each day!!

Some of my fovorite things are Lily's Dark Chocolate peanut butter cups, Luna and Larry's coconut bliss ice cream (Brownie), RX Bars, Fruits (berries and bananas), Flowers (I really love flowers), gardening, butterflies, my favorite colors - I love all colors, but my favorite is blue. I like ZipFiz, Izzi, and water to drink.
A little about me.  I am a mom with 5 boys, a beautiful Grand-daughter and a Grand-son. I have worked in the Wasatch School District teaching Music for three years.  I was also a substitute teacher for the district for a year.  I have devoted my life to teaching children, whether it is through teaching piano, singing, preschool, daycare, tutoring, and now being a teacher. I finished my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education April 2012.  I also graduated with my on my Master’s Degree through Western Governors University with my Special Education degree in July 2013.   I taught Special Education for 4 years.  I spent a year as the reading and ELLinterventionist at J.R. Smith Elementary School.  I am a level 1 Wilson instructor.  Wilson is an intensive phonics / reading program to help students with dyslexia or other reading disabilities.  I've also been trained to teach Reading Horizons, which is an excellent reading program to help the students understand phonics and to become better, more fluent readers.  I have endorsements in ELL, Elementary Technology, Reading Level 1 and 2, and as an Interventionist.
I love music, spending time with my family, and learning.  My Great Grandmother was taking a College Algebra class at the age of 92.  That had a huge impact on my views of learning and on education.  I am a life-long learner. I am trying to be a better person and teacher every day.  I am excited to share my love of learning with the students. My favorite quote is “Don’t give up today...what you want for Tomorrow!!”
