Hello and Welcome to this school year. I am so glad that your student is in my class. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please let me know by email at email@example.com. I can schedule appointments to meet with you on zoom, in person, or over the phone. I want to help your student all that I can. More than anything, I want them to feel successful and safe. You know your student best, please let me know how and what they need to learn and do the best they can.
Tutoring is available to give your student extra help on anything Monday - Friday in the morning and after school. Please email or call me to set up a time for them to come in.
Due to allergies within the class, this is a gluten free classroom. Students can bring gluten free, healthy snacks (if needed). Students will need to bring a water bottle to fill for water during class.
Homework is 20-30 minutes of reading (5 of those minutes out loud), 15 minutes of math facts, and finish any work that is incomplete at the end of the school day. Absent students are responsible to complete any missed work. They can come in and talk with me to find out what they missed. All assignments are available in Otus lessons. Students are able to zoom into the class at 9:00 on Mondays or 9:30 on Tuesday through Friday to take part in the math lesson. ELA lessons will be available on zoom at 11:30. Science will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2:30 on Zoom. All assignments and activities are on Otus for the students to do and to participate.
Report cards now include our new grading system. Remember it is a 1-4. Some of the items on the report card, your student will be lower because we just started that subject and it will be revisited again later in the school year.
Parent's if you would like to donate supplies for the classroom, here is a list of some needed items: Hand Sanitizer, Kleenex, and Lysol/Clorox Wipes...Kleenex and Wipes are even more important when cold, flu, and covid are upon us. Other class supplies we also need colored pencils, 6" rulers, pencil boxes, #2 sharpened pencils, small student pencil sharpener with collection bin, and Kleenex (yes, I know I put that on twice. We always need more kleenex). We also need small bottles of water for when students forget to bring their water bottle.
Notice: The items on this list will be used during the regular school day. They may be brought from home on a voluntary basis; otherwise, they will be furnished by the school.
