Welcome to a new school year! 2020-2021

My name is Christine Garloch.  I have taught school for many years.  I started in Roosevelt, Utah, spent one year in Orem, Utah, and started teaching in Wasatch County in 1991. My family has a long history in Wasatch County, and I love this community. I am passionate about teaching. My experience has been teaching mostly 7-8 grades, but I have also taught 9-12.  I have focused on teaching Language Arts, but have also taught reading, yearbook, and history.  Every year has brought new learning experiences, new relationships, and new joys.
After growing up in Bountiful, I  attended and graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in English and a minor in History and then returned to obtain my initial teaching certificate.  I also have extensive training from Utah State University with a specialty in Teaching Secondary Reading.  I try to study and learn current trends and thinking in education and to stay current.  Learning technology and how to use it in the classroom is so rewarding.

This year, I will teach the following classes:

English 7:  We will learn about how language works, how to construct meanng pieces of writing, and how to comprehend challenging text.
English 7 Hybrid Course:  This class will learn the same concept and focus on flipped and blended learning.
English Honors 8:  This class will present challenging material in the areas of language, writing, and reading.
