I am very excited to be teaching in the AFJROTC program at Wasatch High School (Unit # UT-20171)!
I was born in Anchorage, Alaska and grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I spent over 14 years as an Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems Technician in the U.S. Air Force. During that time, I worked on F-16, F-15, RC-135, EC-135, and B-52 aircraft. The next 7 years of my career were spent developing and teaching college-accredited Air Force leadership courses as a Professional Military Education (PME) instructor. I retired from the Air Force in Feb. 2006 and came directly to beautiful Utah to teach AFJROTC.
I met my wife Cara while we were both in the Air Force, and we have two sons. I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, reading, and eating good food. I am also a big football, baseball, and hockey fan. Lastly, I think I am the only teacher in Utah who graduated from Troy University (Alabama).
Parents and students can refer to the attached Cadet Guide and Disclosure Document (syllabus) for information about our program. There is also a link below that tells cadets (and has pictures) how to wear the uniform correctly.
There is an Information Packet below for prospective cadets (and parents) who are interested in AFJROTC at Wasatch H.S.
