• Dear Parents:

My name is Ms. Watts. I work along side Mr. Willardson, Ms.Pinter and Ms. Jensen in the counseling office at TMS.  As your child’s school counselors, the most important part of our job is to help students succeed in school.  We are concerned about your child’s academic progress, personal/social development and emotional well-being. There are many programs we will use to accomplish these tasks.

The following are provided by our program:

    1.         Short term individual and small group counseling:  Typically, we will see as needed about a particular issues they my be dealing with. Issues may include grades, divorce, peer relations, death and loss, academic needs and attendance issues.  If an issue cannot be resolved in a reasonable time frame, we will suggest that you seek resources outside of school.

    2.       Classroom guidance lessons:   Topics include College and Career Awareness,  bullying, conflict resolution/problem solving, study skills/test taking skills, and character education. This is my favorite part of my job.

    3.      Consulting and Coordinating:  We will work collaboratively with students through Homeroom class,  PCCR's parents, and teachers to help students who may be struggling with academic, behavior, and/or emotional concerns.

Communication between school counselors and parents is vital. If you have a concern about your child, you may call, email, and/or leave us a note. We look forward to working with you in the coming year to help your child have a successful experience at Timpanogos Middle School.
